This species has a very strong citrus fragrance. Rhynchostylis are also commonly called foxtail orchids because of their long, thin, densely packed inflorescences with sweetly fragrant blooms. The inflorescences appear in autumn and winter. In our, Singaporean climate, it generally flowers about 1-3 times a year depending on climate. Its flowers are highly fragrant and last up to 3 weeks in our climate. It has very powerful Citrus smell. This was most difficult for us to find as it blooms primarily in Jan and Feb.
