In the show’s third season, Tammé struggles with back pain, turning to drugs and alcohol to keep her career from falling apart. Stevens has praised the show for its realistic portrayal of both the emotional and physical perils of professional wrestling. Awesome Kong made a big splash when she debuted on AEW, but she has since had limited appearances due to her GLOW filming schedule and her own real-life injuries. Although she hasn’t retired quite yet, she plays an important role backstage as a coach and producer for the women’s division.

These categories can be graded on an ascending scale of violence as follows: break-stance sports are those that require forcing the opponent to relinquish a certain posture or position; toppling requires that the standing opponent be forced to touch the ground with some part of his body other than his feet; touch-fall wrestling requires that the opponent be forced into a certain position, usually supine, for a brief instant; pin-fall wrestling requires that the opponent be held in such a position for a measurable length of time; and submission wrestling requires the opponent to vocally or visually signal defeat by his own choice.
